JOEL RAIVIO

Joel Raivio is a Barcelona born (1987) Finnish sculptor. During his formative years in Catalunya he was influenced by modernismo, Gaudi and by all the mystical creatures that loomed below the surface of the sea. The other half of his childhood was spent living in Finland where he was fascinated by the treasures of the forest.

Joel Raivio's marble, brass, and wood sculptures are historical artifacts from an alternative timeline where nature was respected and organic life was celebrated. They are echoes of the world we could have had.

Raivio holds a master's degree in art from the University of Lapland and has previously made a career designing products for consumer brands.
